I love this idea! It gives students a sense of empowerment while making hard decisions. It also exposes students to what people go through after coming to America. I almost would hold out on giving out all the scenarios and make students research to find out what people's options are.- This review is an assignment for my tech ed class.
This is an outstanding example of a lesson where students can take ownership of their learning, and different outcomes could lead to further discussion about history, family and culture.
